Peek-a-boo Card

Sunday, April 25, 2010  at 7:38 PM
Last Thursday afternoon I visited the advanced stampers group that has been meeting in The Villages for several years. (I went to see how they are organized to help us with our new group.) One of the projects that day was a peek-a-boo card. I didn't actually get to make the card because there weren't enough kits to go around and as a visitor I was given last chance. I watched my friend make her card and was anxious to try one when I got home. All of the cutting and punching had been done before the kits were handed out. So when I attempted to make one myself it didn't actually work right the first time. When that didn't work I decided to look at the directions that were passed out that day. They were no help to me at all. So I went looking for some directions on the many stamping blogs that I follow. Thankfully Dawn Griffith had made a video tutorial for this card back in February 2008. I don't think I would have ever figured this out without viewing this tutorial. Thank you Dawn!

Here's the front of the card.

And now the peek-a-boo part. When you open the card another stamped image slides into view.

Here's the card in action.

Want to try one yourself? Go to Dawn's tutorial HERE to see how to make this cute card. I made just one change to her directions. My card kept catching when I opened it. So instead of a punched circle for the front image I used a larger piece of card stock as shown below.
