Mini Convention...The next best thing to being there

Thursday, July 21, 2011  at 5:55 AM
Last week was the Stampin' Up! convention in Salt Lake City.  Carolyn and I went to it last year and it was fabulous.  I really wanted to go again but decided not to since I was so busy getting settled into my new house.  So on Wednesday of last week our demo group got together for a shoebox swap.

Everyone designed one card and brought the supplies for everyone else to make the card.  Wow!!  We made some great cards.

The first card was from Judy.  I love this technique.  And the new triple layer punch is awesome.

The next card is from Carolyn.  We all felt like Michelle Zindorf while making this card.  (Ha!  I can't even come close to Michelle's talent, but it was fun to try.)

The next card is from Daryl.  Don't you just love this pinwheel?  (You might be seeing this card later at a class near you!)

This card was from Gail.  It's a criss-cross pocket card.  I love the bright colors.

This card is from Carrie.  It features a vellum window and is absolutely gorgeous.  Just love the color combo using the new In-Color Pool Party.

And, finally, here is my card.  I used my favorite new In-Color Wisteria Wonder, as well as my favorite new stamp set My Friend.  Isn't the new ruffled ribbon so pretty?  My stamp club will be making this card later this month.

What a fun day making such great cards.  It really did help me not be so sad about missing convention.  But I'm going next year for sure.  And our whole group is thinking about going together.  Now that will be fun!

Lovely cards! I agree - the new colors are really beautiful. And the ribbon too. But I love the sneak peak into your new house in the first photo the best! :)

I wondered if anyone would notice!

I was going to ask if that was at your house. Where are all the pictures or do I have to wait until October and see the real thing?
