My Stamping Week

I've spent the last three days in a stamping frenzy! My friend and upline, Carolyn, needed to be gone for awhile to spend time with her husband who is hospitalized out of town. Her stamp clubs were starting up again this week after a summer break. So she asked me if I would fill in for her. It was really pretty easy to do since she had already designed four cards. I made just a few changes to work with the supplies that I had on hand and then spent all day Tuesday prepping for the workshops. I held two workshops yesterday and the final one this morning. Then I spent the afternoon compiling all the orders and inputting them in Stampin' Up's! ordering system. It took me awhile to get this done as I decided to put an order in for myself (of course!) while I was doing this.

Here's the first card that we made. This is another version of the swap card that Carolyn took to convention. I love this color combo. It is so rich looking. The background is made by running Basic Gray card stock through the Big Shot using the new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. This new folder has very deep etching and is just beautiful. Then we brayered Bravo Burgundy ink over the top. Look at the detail. It almost looks like flocking.

The second card uses the new In Color Concord Crush. Isn't it a pretty purple? We also used a piece of Certainly Celery DSP (designer series paper). The flower was colored using the thumping technique. You color the flower with a lighter color of marker, then thump with a darker marker to get variation of color.

The third card showcases many of the different shades of blue card stock: Not Quite Navy, Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, and Baja Breeze. The stamp set is Punched Posies, a hostess set from the summer mini catalog. The great thing about this set is that the flowers can be punched using a variety of Stampin' Up! punches.

The final card is my favorite. It features a design from one of the make & take cards that we made at convention. We made a mask for the inside circle using the Circles #2 die with the Big Shot. Then the inside of the circle is sponged with Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait, and Pear Pizzazz. These are all new colors and so pretty!

Carolyn certainly has some great customers. I had so much fun working with all three groups. And best of all, I talked with Carolyn after the last workshop and she reported that her husband is improving. We're looking forward to having you back with us soon, Carolyn!

I loved doing these cards. They are so beautiful. Carolyn did a super job designing them.

Thank you both.
