A Fun Day at Sea Breeze

Sunday, May 29, 2011  at 8:37 AM
Our advanced stampers group met at Sea Breeze on Friday afternoon.  I really enjoy this group because I can just go and be a participant.  Occasionally I will teach one of the sessions but most of the time I can just go and play along with a great group of stampers.  This week my new friend and fellow demo Daryl taught two different embossing techniques.  The first was inlaid embossing.  I've done this before but never with these bold colors.  I loved it!

Supplies (all Stampin' Up!)
Stamp Sets:  Four Frames, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock:  Basic Black, Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Ink:  Tempting Turquoise
Accessories:  Tempting Turquoise 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon
Tools:  1/2" Circle Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine

Thank you Daryl.  What a fun way to make a really cool background.

What are the steps involved with on inlaid embossing? Do you punch circles, adhere and then emboss?

Yes, we punched the circles and adhered them with glue dots. Then we ran it through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder. Daryl made another one that used three different size circles - 1", 3/4" and 1/2". All in different shades of pink. Really a stunning card.

Can't wait to try this! Hopefully I can get my "real work" (as Gary refers to it ) done early enough today to have time in my studio to try this! Thanks for the inspiration
