Packing Once Again

Saturday, May 14, 2011  at 6:00 AM
I'm really tired of packing up my stamping supplies.  But this is a good move!  We are closing on our new house on Monday morning.  That afternoon they will rip up the carpet and install the laminate flooring in my stamp room/office.  Then Tuesday morning the shelving will be installed in the closet.  Then I'll finally be able to start setting up my new stamp studio.  We went to IKEA this past Wednesday to get some ideas for a desk, files, table, etc.  I picked up a fabulous magazine yesterday at Barnes & Noble called Creative Spaces.  So the journey begins.

Here are the BEFORE pictures.  Sorry that the picture looking out the window is so dark.  It makes it kind of hard to see what it really looks like.  I'll try to take another picture on Monday after the closing.

Want to help me design this room?  Please let me know if you've seen a great idea for craft rooms.  I love seeing peoples creative spaces.

I've already started to pack my supplies.  So I won't be posting any cards for at least a week.  But I'll try to keep you posted on the flooring and closet.  I'll also post some links to furniture I'm looking at.

I sometimes think we spend so much time on storage that we don't give enough thought to the size of the work space itself - the desk or table you will work at. Perhaps an island work table - big enough to add a visiting stamper to work side by side with you ;)!

I had a local cabinet maker build my card making desk in our laundry room. You are welcome to come look for ideas, if you like. Call me at 750-6210. They did a very good job.

I will be eager to see how you set up your room since soon I will have a very similar space & room! So glad to hear there is an Ikea within reach....they have awesome stuff and I have been thinking Ikea related thoughts in the past few weeks.

Have fun figuring it all out...how fun to start out fresh! Congrats on the new house closing. Jan
