Back in January I posted HERE about a little cupcake and box that I made to put my sister's birthday gift in. This wasn't an edible cupcake, just all paper and ribbon. But a non-stamping friend of mine saw the post and emailed me to ask if I sold the little cupcake wrappers like I'd used for Karen's gift. I told her it was a die and that I had cut it out and embossed it. I offered to make some for her and send them to her. She declined and I didn't think more of it. Then I posted about my Big Shot Special (see upper right corner of my blog) and I got another email from her. She wanted to know if this Big Shot machine I kept talking about was what I had used for the cupcakes. I told her it was and she said "I want one." She usually uses paper doilies to dress her cupcakes and has to hand cut them. She made 200 of these at Christmas. So we put together a Big Shot Special order for her and we got together and I showed her how to use the Big Shot with the Perfect Setting die and the embossing folders. I got emails for the next two days from her telling me how much fun she was having using her new toy. Then just last week she emailed me that a friend had asked her to bake cookies for her mother's funeral dinner and she told her she doesn't really bake cookies but would like to make cupcakes. She made 120 cupcakes with die-cut and embossed wrappers! I just made 16 for Leah's workshop on Monday and I must say that I am impressed that she made so many. So even if you aren't a stamper you might just find something on my blog that interests you!
Here are the results of the cupcakes that I made. Sorry, Mary, these don't do justice to your lovely cupcakes because I didn't have any fancy contraption to pipe the icing. Thanks for the inspiration, Mary. We had a lovely dessert plate thanks to you.
